Promoting Mental Health Across the Community
Mental health and wellbeing are at the core of many Cronulla Lions initiatives. We are committed to creating supportive environments, reducing stigma, and providing access to programs that improve emotional, social, and psychological wellbeing.
POPPY Playgroup (Maternal Mental Health)
The POPPY Playgroup provides a safe and supportive environment for mothers experiencing mental health challenges such as anxiety and postnatal depression. The program encourages connection, shared experiences, and structured play for children, supporting both maternal wellbeing and early childhood development.
Men’s Mental Health Group (New Initiative)
This new initiative focuses on creating a safe, inclusive space for men to connect, share experiences, and improve their mental and physical wellbeing. The group is designed to reduce social isolation and empower participants to build meaningful relationships within the community.
Domestic Violence Art Therapy Program
Cronulla Lions funded a 12-month art therapy program supporting women affected by domestic violence. Through guided creative sessions, participants can express themselves, build confidence, and begin the healing process in a supportive, non-judgmental environment.
Youth Mental Health Support (ReachOut)
Cronulla Lions supports ReachOut, a leading provider of mental health resources for young people and their families. This initiative focuses on education, support, and early intervention, helping to prevent youth suicide and promote long-term mental wellbeing.
